Hi! I’m Heather, owner and founder of Pro Parents Prep. I’m a married mom of two kids who are currently in elementary and middle school. I’ve been a cashier, administrative assistant, babysitter, nanny, IT support tech, high school teacher, office manager, doula, childbirth educator, lactation consultant, car seat tech, and most recently added founding president of a non-profit athletic booster club to my list, LOL. I’m a busy “mom doing things,” as my 10 year old says.
Pro Parents Prep was born as a tiny little doula and childbirth education business back in 2014, growing over the years to include car seat tech support and IBCLC lactation services. It stayed a part-time gig until 2023 when I started doing a lot more lactation work and the other part-time stuff had to go. By summer of 2025, Pro Parents Prep became my full-time job. I do home and virtual visits and have an office space in Sylvan Park in west Nashville. Whether you’re navigating breastfeeding support, formula feeding, or combination feeding, infant feeding looks different for every family. I love building your confidence in yourself as a parent and supporting families through their feeding experiences brings me great joy! Postpartum support sets a family up for longterm success and I’m honored to serve your growing family. In order to build your parenting toolbox, I am digging into my 14 years of experience to level up the education side of my work. Over the next few months I’ll post free and paid downloadable guides, printable tools, and real-life strategies. I’ll also continue blogging, coaching parents, and sharing on social media.
So what does “Pro Parents Prep” actually mean? I’m glad you asked.
“Pro Parents Prep” means we are FOR parents (PRO parents) and we are professional parents – who help YOU become professional parents too! Raising kids is a job. When you think of it that way, I think it makes the work of parenting more accessible because with a job, you can acquire skills and learn while you’re working. That’s exactly what parenting is! Learning how to do it while you’re doing it. I’m here to give you on-the-job training in all stages of parenthood, from newborns to infants, and toddlers to school aged kids to teens. Think of me as your experienced friend who is a little ahead of you on the parenting path – I’ll share my best advice with you while humbly walking through the trials of parenting myself. That’s the heart of Pro Parents Prep – and it’s personal, because I’m living it too.
Being self employed as the owner AND only employee means I do all aspects of running a business: I provide the services, build the website, respond to inquiries, post on social media, manage finances — all while chugging along in my growth goals AND raising a family and caring for our home – and sometimes caring well for myself ;o) I have a great love for working parents – I AM a working parent! I know how challenging and rewarding it can be, whether you’re new parents just finding your footing at home and in the workforce, or experienced“pro” parents hitting new milestones. Everyone talks about work-life balance — I’m here to tell you it’s a myth, and that’s actually good news. It’s my goal to help you feel empowered to NOT do the most, NOT be the best, NOT find balance – because it isn’t possible. I will help you feel grounded, care for yourself, and care for your family in a “good enough is good enough” kind of way. Let’s call it “good enough parenting.” Maybe more like the 90s but with sleek tech?? If you’re a “good enough” kind of person, or WANT to be that kind of person – you’re in the right place.
